1010-1050: Transport Canada updates by Luc Tremblay, Executive Director for Domestic Vessels Regulatory Oversight in Transport Canada Marine Safety and Security. (Online)
About Luc Tremblay
In his role, Luc Tremblay is responsible for the inspection, certification, and enforcement of regulations for all Canadian vessels. He is also responsible for the development of regulations related to design, construction and safety equipment of vessels, and for the safety management system. Prior to joining Transport Canada in 2017, Mr. Tremblay occupied various positions in the private sector, as a marine consultant and lead designer in a major shipyard.

About Matt Shinbein
Matt is the Chair of Quadrant Marine Institute’s Board. Quadrant Marine is an organization focused on training Marine Service Technicians (MSTs). He is an MST himself and Assistant Service Manager at Blackline Marine. Matt is an expert in composite repair and refinishing projects.

1130-1210: Green technology trends in the marine industry and innovation by Callum Campbell, P.Eng, MBA, who is the founder of Greenline Marine Inc, a Victoria-based startup advancing sustainable coastal transportation. (In-person).
About Callum Campbell
With a degree in naval architecture from the University of Southampton and a MBA from Royal Roads, Callum’s unique trajectory through BC’s maritime sector includes experience in both public and private sectors, working with engineers, operators, shipbuilders, and regulators.

About Donald Roussel
As President and CEO of Roussel Strategic Advisory Services Inc Donald lead the offering of Advisory services to a suite of Private and Public organizations. The fields of expertise are Transportation Modes, Maritime Management, Organizational Governance, Strategic advice to CEO, Chairman, and Executives on specific projects or initiatives including Mergers, Sales, Acquisition and the management of transition. As Senior Advisor, Donald is supporting a variety of areas, including the International Marine Strategy, promoting fishing vessel safety, as well as assisting with the recruitment and retention of talent in vulnerable areas of the transportation industry. At the same time, he provides senior advice on the Pilotage, Autonomous mode of transportation, Legislative & Regulatory Reform and continues to co-lead the Aircraft Services Review and acquisition and proof of concept of remotely operated aircraft.
